Selamat Tahun Baru Hijrah

Hey.... happy noo yir... hijrah year that is, since tahun baru masihi tak masuk lagi. I know, it's kinda late to wish tahun baru since hari nih dah masuk 2 muharram, tapi as a muslim, kita sepatutnya rasa semangat untuk menyambut awal muharram... (ececeh... pandai pulak bercakap hal2 camni). So mcm beserlah... every new year, mesti nak wat resolution. Yang tahun lepas punyer tak pernah tercapai... typical... anyway... untuk tahun baru nih, I have a few wishes:

1. Lose weight.... say down to 70 kg. My ideal BMI would require me to go somewhere around 65 kg but let's be realistic okay... makan mcm lembu, exercise pon jarang, n then stress di tempat keja... dapat turun ke 70 kg kira cukup bagusla tu... I've recalibrated the weighing scale yesterday, and it wouldn't budge... according to the scale, I still weigh 80 kg. Oh damn you stupid scale! heheh.... For this one, I kena sacrifice sket... Have to cut down my starbucks vanilla latte, KFC, McD and mcm2 lagi... wish me luck. Selalunya, dalam 2-3 minggu dah kecundang....

2. Nak baca lebih banyak bahan2 ilmiah... (and sadly, Mangga and Hai don't qualify). I've got at least 5 books yg dah beli sepanjang 3 bulan lepas and masih dalam queue lagi. Skang tgh baca John Grisham 'The Appeal'... pasnih nak start citer Melayu pulak (or citer Indon to be exact... Ayat2 Chenta). So.... buku kena standby tepi katil. malam2 seblom tido layan a few pages... yg nih boleh tercapai kot.

3. Learn new things... like Spanish, or baking, repairing cars (ok.... I gotta draw a line on this one... seriously? repairing cars?) I think I'll start with Spanish... sbb buku Learning Spanish yg i beli tuh dah setahun tak berusik. Pasnih... layan telenovela tak payah pakai subtitles lah... stylish nyer. tengos muchas esperanzas!

I'm an uncle now!

Hey hey... sekarang i officiallynya sudah menjadi uncle after my sister gave birth to a baby boy yesterday (15th Dec).  Ingatkan minggu depan baru nak deliver sekali semalam dapat sms, baby sudah keluar kat spital ampang. Originally she intended to give birth in spital kajang, tapi spital kajang tak bagi husband masuk untuk tgk isteri deliver, so switched to ampang. last2 kena operate pulak sbb dilation tak cukup besar. so dptlah baby boy seberat 3.3 kg tu. haha... i am so happy and proud sbb ada nephew. ooo... mcm nih rupanya rasa jadik uncle yer... baru i tau. since most of my frenz (except mosz) dah ada experience jadik uncle, i rasa cam agak ketinggalan sket... apapun... welcome to the uncle club.

Since this baby is the first born grandchild dalam family, mesti dia dapat attention lebih and layanan yg spesel from the rest of us. mcm i jugak last time... sbb i cucu sulung, dulu masa kecik2, my uncles and aunts selalu bawak jalan2 and belikan macam2. bertuah la baby nih... ckp jer nak apa... pakcik faizal bleh belikan... nak baju designer label, kasut crocs, kreta lumba, playstation, ipod... u name it, pakcik belikan. (nih sumer terikut zach la nih... manjakan sgt niece dia).

okay nephew... semoga menjadi anak yg soleh, berjaya dan bergaya (mcm unclenya jugak lah...)

comel seperti pakciknya.... (chantek la awak punyer sarung kepala tuh!)

Movie Review: Wild Child (Pulangkan wangku kembali!!)

From the tajuk of my post this time, agak2 u guys boleh bajet kot what will my review be like. I should've followed my instinct. Should've probably watched Los & Faun instead. But the timing was not so good, so I was stuck with this crap (which I didn't know at that time). Pelakon yang pegang watak Poppy aka the Wild Child in this film is not wild at all. Seriously... with the title WILD tuh I would expect some boobs from this movie. Okay... perhaps that was a bit too much, tapi kalau dah namanya WILD tuh, ingatkan criter nih memaparkan kisah remaja rosak akhlak yg sering berparti dan bersosial tanpa hala tujuan. Huhu... nope, kecundang saja harapan i untuk melihat itu semua. Perhaps it's the casting... Emma Roberts (anak sedara Julia Roberts) nampak cam agak inesen untuk memegang watak Poppy. I was expecting Lindsay Lohan or paling kurang pon letak la Blake Lively aka Serena Gossip Girl. Sorry Emma.... you kinda sux as a wild child! Ugh... frankly, kalau u nak tgk citer pasal budak pompuan kat boarding school, Adik Manja lagi besz... even tho the acting was a bit like kayu, at least citer tuh citer Melayu yang senang kita nak faham lawak jenakanya... lagipon, ada budak pompuan nyanyi2 sambil naik beskal... "La la la la la la la hey hey... lupa sebentar yang menggangumu... la la la la la la hey hey.... ingat pesan dariku..." pastuh kena langgar ngan che'gu azmi. Okay... we're talking about Wild Child here... focus...

Jalan criter Wild Child agak straight forward... Poppy, an angry teen, tension ngan her dad coz she felt like she's been ignored coz he got a new girlfriend. So, dia pegi buang baju2 GF bapak dia and as a punishment, dia dihantar gi boarding school pompuan kat England. Sampai kat sekolah baru, dia buat style bitchy, and made enemy with the head girl Harriett. Member2 sedorm dia pon tension... (mana tak tensen ngan perangai belagak tuh... kalau masuk SDAR dah lama kena belasah). So budak2 kat sana suka la menyakat dia... tapi at one point derang start kesian ngan Poppy so they decided to help Poppy in her mission to get expelled from the school. As part of the plan, she has to flirt dengan anak lelaki pengetua. Ingatkan nak flirt2 biasa jer.... sekali suka betul2 pulak... alah... dah boleh agak kan jalan citer dia? So seterusnya apa yg terjadi? hehehe.... kena la tgk sendiri. hey, i suffered for 1 1/2 hour dalam wayang tuh.... mana bleh senang2 jer bagitau the ending... kena la tgk sendiri... or better still, download jer kat internet... citer sampah nih patutnya tak payah tayang kat cinema pon...

so ratingnya? jalan criter 2.5 bintang, acting 2 bintang, lagu2 soundtrack.... bolehla 3 bintang, cinematography.. ntahla... i main ckp jer... tak sure pon menatang apa tuh. kalau ikut standard rating zach... citer nih layak untuk 2.3 bintang... kalau dalam gred SPM setakat C6 jer... hish.... kesal yang tak berkesudahan la. kepada GSC one utama.... pulangin uang ku donkk!

Mari membuat passport

For those yang dah baca blog makcik chantek aka zach, i mmg ada plan untuk buat passport the other day. What? How come I still tader passport? Bukan ke I bleh speaking accent mat salleh? "Bukan u study oversea ke dulu?", ada org pernah tanya I. hahaha.... jangan mudah tertipu... inilah akibatnya kalau terlalu banyak menonton rancangan2 barat yg tak berfedah tu dalam TV. Sooner or later u will pick up the accent. Anyway, i managed to execute my plan untuk buat passport last wednesday. Since zach ckp kalau buat kat imigresen wangsa maju cepat siap, i pon google la dulu direction untuk ke sana. Very berkobar2. Yerlah... ini sumer untuk menyahut rancangan RK Gold Coast mosz which is supposed to happen somewhere next year (I'm still counting on it mosz).

On that day, i bertolak awal la jugak dr rumah... lam kul seploh. pagi tuh baham dulu nasi goreng dua pinggan untuk stamina. N then baru betolak. The journey took approximately one hour.... tuh pon sebab sesat seploh minit coz i missed the last junction. yer2 jer pakai google map. sampai2 tuh kena fotostat IC ngan surat beranak dulu. n then you have to buy the borang (RM1). Pas isi baru bleh amik number giliran. Masa amik number tuh, the officer kat kaunter tuh perasan i punyer IC macam ada corrosion sket. So dia tanya cip tuh boleh pakai lagi ke tak? Ish... i baru jer guna untuk print i nyer epf statement the day before. So i guess the chip still works la. The officer seemed satisfied with it so she gave me a number. 1286. the current number at that time was 1227. okay... i knew this was going to happen. so i dah bawak ipod ngan buku awal2... bijak tak?

i was quite lucky sebab tetiba ada vacant seat nearby. Lepas confirmkan takder warga emas or wanita mengandung yg nak amik seat tuh, i quickly grabbed it. dalam masa menunggu tuh, sempat baca a few pages of my book n main 2 rounds of sally saloon in my ipod (ish.... besz la game nih... sapa2 ada ipod touch, this is a must-have!). after about 40 minutes my number was called. "1286 kaunter 5". hehehe....

after i hand over my borang and documents, akak kat counter tuh cocok i nyer mykad ke dalam mesen dia. after a few moments the card reader failed. oh dear... this couldn't be good. so she asked me whether the chip was still okay. I told her it was working fine yesterday at EPF kiosk in klcc. so she tried again... dia amik pemadam pen yg keras tuh n she scraped off the corroded layer of my Mykad. oo... mcm tuh caranya nak buang karat kat chip yer.... tapi pas dia cocok balik lam card reader dia still failed jugak... deymnnn! "encik... encik kena tukar kad nih dulu. dekat sebelah ada pejabat pendaftaran negara, mintak dia buatkan yg sementara punya yang ada cap jari tuh, lepas tuh encik datang balik. nombor nih jangan hilangkan yer." aduss.... seb baik kat sebelah ada office pendaftaran negara. so i pegi sebelah...

kat sebelah, kena amik number giliran baru pulak. bila i terangkan i nyer problem kat officer tuh, dengan muka tak manis dia menjawab, "kad nih kena tukar ni... kalau nak tukar kat sini, hari ni tak boleh siap, tapi kalau nak cepat kena pegi maju junction, kat sana satu jam boleh siap." kalau saya nak yang sementara punyer? i tanya lagi.... "yang tu kena amik number, tapi number giliran pagi nih dah abis, kena tunggu pukul dua karang baru boleh amik nombor balik".... ngan jawapan dia tuh, i rasa cam nak cocok jer bijik mata dia. jibraun betu! dah agak pun... beserla... pejabat kerajaan. pelik jugak sebab masa i masuk tuh bukannya ramai sangat orang pon. lagipon baru kul 11.30... cemaner pulak nombor dah abis? i malas nak tanya lagi since dari gaya dia menjawab soalan i sebelum nih pon mcm nak tak nak jer... hish... nyesal tak note down nama dia... kalau tak boleh masuk lam ruangan komplen kat harian metro.

i nak gi maju junction pon rasa tak semangat dah. bukan apa... i nyer touch n go credit value ada dalam seratus lebih lagi in my current mykad. takkan nak hilang camtu jer. so i sms zach... n we decided to berpeleseran in KLCC. hahaha.... end up hari tuh jadi remaja liar jugak.... mosz... walaupon my first attempt untuk buat passport failed, please proceed with our gold coast plan okay!

New mall in Kerteh

Hey! We have a new mall in Kerteh. Huh... who would've believe an actual shopping mall is here in this sleepy town of Kerteh? When they first started building it 3 years ago, I thought it would be some kind of bazaar or arcade where you would find small time traders selling kain batik, kraftangan and all the normal stuffs you would find in Pasar Payang in KT. How wrong I was... this mall actually resembles more like a mini KLCC with Starbucks, Giant, Body Shop and shops you would only dream to find in KL. Even the state capital KT takder Starbucks...

My friend Zach will be thrilled (or perhaps agitated) if he finds out that they've just opened a new Starbucks aka Kedai Peluru here. (Why Kedai Peluru? Zach told me, Starbucks actually funds Israel to purchase its weapons in combatting Muslims in Palestine... therefore, buying a Frappucino Caramel means helping Israel to kill our Muslim comrades in Palestine). Zach is boycotting products that support Israel and this means no Starbucks for him.... and MAC cosmetics too. I guess you will have to stick to that L'Oreal lipstick now, eh Zach? When he found out Amy Winehouse was a Jew, poor Amy was deleted from his iPod... hehe... I could actually hear Amy begging to Zach... no... no... no.... Eheh... enough about Zack lah.

So this Mesra Mall we've been talking about had its opening ceremony yesterday. They brought some local celebrities to promote the mall. The turnout was huge! I heard people came from as far as Kuantan and Dungun (sbb nak tengok artis la tuu...). I tried to squeeze in yesterday in the afternoon, tapi jalan jam teruk sangat sampai tak boleh nak masuk. I had to come back at night just to check out apa yg besz sangat kat situ. First impression.... wow... not bad. Ada Toys R Us, Popular bookstore, Secret Recipe, Kedai Peluru, Giant, Kamdar, and also a Spa Centre (I am not kidding.... I could imagine makcik penjual keropok lekor Kemasik treating herself with a full body spa selepas seharian memasak and menjual keropok lekor di tepi jalan... aaa... "mokcik raser molek gok iyer wak spa kak sini... kek gi, pah leteh2 goreng kepok, bulih gok rehak2 ....doh mung ingak org KL jer boleh spa? kite nok raser teekkk....")

When the mall fully opens later on, there will also be a TGV cineplex, bowling alley and futsal courts. After years of waiting, finally dapat jugak org Kerteh merasa sumer nih. This mall can actually help boosting the economy of this region. But I'm worried about the social impacts it would bring to the young people here... mesti ramai remaja rosak nak melepak kat tempat nih. Budak2 ponteng sekolah lagi (there are 3 schools within 3 km of the mall). Hopefully authorities will have some concerns over this issues. Kerteh is a wonderful place... Having lived here for the past 4 years, I already feel like I'm part of it. I used to be homesick when I first came here, but now I actually felt like I'm missing Kerteh when I'm back home in KL. Who knows, I'll probably marry a local, have kids and settle here for good... heheh.... u think so?

Hari Raya & 90210

Whoow... I haven't blogged lately... yeah.. it's been quite a while since my last blog. But then... it was bulan puasa and I didn't feel like blogging then. Now that I'm in my Hari Raya mood, I think I'm ready to write something. So how was Hari Raya? Mine? Naahh... nothing much. I spent the first half of the first raya in Hulu Langat and the whole family went to Malacca to Mak's hometown in the afternoon. The traffic was slow in Seremban and it took forever to reach Malacca. Haven't been there since Uwan (my grandma) passed away a couple of years ago. Last year I didn't go back to Malacca sbb kena keja shift malam (sob... sob... that was sad). But this year... bila balik sana, I noticed so many things have changed. My grandparents' traditional Melaka house was not the same house I knew years ago. Rumah tuh cam dah hilang seri sikit. Well, I guess that's life... everything changes. And this was actually the first raya for my sister with her hubby. She went back to Mad's hometown in Kota Bharu on the 2nd day of raya. It was kinda weird not being with my sister for the rest of my stay in Malacca... Walaupon dia dah kawen and dah nak beranak, in my heart she will always be my little sister. Tak dapat la nak gossip2 lagi ngan Adik... hehe...

I took a day off on Sunday, so I started working again on Monday. Stressful... Mood masih nak berhari raya lagi tapi dah kena keja. Since the other exec who was supposed to work on that day suddenly MC, I ended up being the only exec working. Tak pasal2 kena jadi boss arituh... dah la all the managers masih bercuti. Pastuh bila check email, I was suddenly swamped with so many things... aaargghh... nyesal tak amik cuti extra.

To calm things down... I went for 90210 marathon that I've just downloaded from torrent. Managed to catch 3 episodes... Good enough. And this new 90210 spinoff wasn't that bad after all. For the benefit of you who have been living in a cave for the past few years, 90210 is some sort of sequel to the popular teen series Beverly Hills 90210 which was a huge hit in the 90's. They still cast some of the original characters from the previous series like Kelly and Brenda (oh honey... I don't have to time to explain sapa derang nih... korang Google ajerlah). Well, after watching 3 episodes I feel kinda depressed... rasa cam nak duduk kat Beverly Hills pulak. You see, the school is populated with hordes of beautiful people... the teachers are gorgeous and sexy - not to mention the students, the weather's beautiful, the cafeteria serves great food... it's all I want in a school (which made me realized - my life in boarding school suckz compared to those kids in West Beverly High). Okaylah... malas nak cerita panjang2... kalau rajin, dload la citer tuh..

Nak tido dululah... besok banyak kerja... tootles!

i love the whole world: boom de yadda!

Have u seen this ad campaign ran by Discovery Channel where they put together the hosts from various Discovery shows to sing about the world? Alaa.... yang ada nyanyi boom-de-yadda tuh? Oh that was one of the best ads I've seen this year. Bila tengok iklan tuh rasa cam nak nyanyi sama pulak. At the end of it... dia tulis "the world is just awesome". Yep! Awesome indeed. It made you realize the miracles of this wonderful world... things to discover and so much more. Apa? Korang tak pernah tgk? What? Korang tak langgan Discovery Channel? Biztuh korang langgan channel hiburan ngan kartun saja ke kat Astro? Tsk... tsk..  Nah... tengokla sendiri kat link bawah ni... Just how many Discovery shows would you be able to recognize from the ad?

My fave part is when Adam Savage from Mythbusters sets Jamie's shirt on fire

What do you smell like?

Just the other day I told my colleague that I have 7 different perfumes at home. He thought I was joking…. Huh? Adakah gila jika mempunyai 7 perfumes? Nope, I beg to differ…. I like to smell different for different occasions. Mari kita lihat what kind of perfume yg ada atas rak baju I….

  1. Perry Ellis Reserve Cologne for Men aka my main perfume. This is the one that I spray before going to work. People at work will recognize me by this smell. Cemaner nak describe the smell? Cuba tanya my colleagues. Kalau ikut website: This masculine scent possesses a blend of fresh and aromatic, florals and herbs with warm low notes of amber, musk and wood. It is recommended for evening wearahh… evening wear kemenda… ikut suka la kita nak pakai masa bila.

  1. Polo Blue by Ralph Lauren. Bought it a couple of years back, tapi sampai skang tak abis2. Smells fresh… perfume ni I cuma gayakan kalau nak gi makan or tapau kat KFC kijal… mungkin staff KFC dah kenal bau ni. Hehe…

  1. Truth Cologne by Calvin Klein for Men. Saiz kecik jer. A friend at work sold it to me. Initially it was meant untuk disimpan kat locker ofis. In case sebelum meeting petang, badan berbau hangit pas wat keja lam plant, leh la tonyoh2 skit. Anyway, it ended up tersadai di atas rak baju. Dipakai untuk ke pasar malam kerteh.

  1. Starwalker by Mont Blanc. Kalau ikut description: This      spectacular scent includes a mixture of bergamot, tangerine, bamboo, ginger, sandalwood, white musk, amber, and nutmeg. Ntahla… kalau ikut hidung I, ianya berbau sweet. Terpengaruh ngan Ming Chai la nih… later I found out dia pon terpengaruh ngan org lain jugak… hish… Perfume yg sesuai digayakan for outing to Kuantan or Kemaman.

  1. Lacoste Essential Cologne. Citrus, fruity scent… one of my fave currently. Pakai masa nak jalan2 di KL. Atau masa nak gi training. I was influenced by GQ magazine. They gave free sample… melekat pulak.

  1. Cool Water by Davidoff. Uhuh… Zach claimed that Ashraf Sinclair also used Cool Water. Tak tau la btol ke tak. (Ashraf Sinclair… if somehow you read this can you confirm kan u pakai CW?). Yang pasti, it is currently being endorsed by Josh Holloway from Lost. Heh… I may look nothing like Ashraf or Josh, the least I can do is to smell like them… yes! Currently digunakan untuk jalan2 ke KL (switched alternately with Essential).

  1. The Body Shop (Zestini, Aztique & Velique). Tiga serangkai beli sekali kat OU last year. Saja beli… they were actually meant for my sister.. tapi terpakai sendiri pulak. Bau feminine la sket… ahh… like who cares? Dipakai untuk dinner kat warung tomyam atau nasi ayam hainan kerteh. Tak pon untuk membeli belah di pasaraya L-Mart kerteh. Hahaha… lagipon this is the cheapest of all the perfumes I have… bleh la abiskan sesuka ati. (No pic available)
  1. Paris Hilton Cologne for Men. Bak kata Paris…. That’s hot! Kat description kotak perfume dia tulis, this is the smell that Paris Hilton wants on his man. Haha… Sorry honey! Ever since you came out with that sex vid, I don’t care how hot do you think I am, I’m not gonna date a slut! Anyway… your perfume smells nice. Tak tau nak pakai masa bila… baru jer beli.

So there goes the list… huh? There are 8 instead of 7? Hahah…. Tuh sebab I baru beli Paris Hilton. I’ve burst my budget for perfume this year… so the next one will have to wait next year. Ada sapa2 nak present perfume tak untuk besday? Let me know yeah!

Background music: Honey! Honey! from Mamma Mia! The Movie Soundtrack

Mari menonton movie: Wall-E

I was in KL recently sebab ada course which my boss forced me to go. I don’t really mind sbb course kat KL means I can balik kampong and get paid at the same time. The whole course took two days (seb baik dua hari jer, thank goodness…. The course was boring, dengar tajuk pon dah tau – “Scheduled Waste Management Training”). The venue was somewhere in Kota Damansara, so pas abis course I didn’t exactly went straight home…. Kena la buat diversion to One Utama dulu. Kebetulan dah lama tak tgk movie. So I went to GSC OU to check out what’s hot on the silver screen. Turned out ada banyak jugak movie yg tak tgk lagi. After much deliberation, I narrowed down my choices to 3 finalists:

1. The Mummy III: sequel to The Mummy I and II. I loved the previous two simply because I love everything about the ancient Egypt. But this one was about the mummy in China… huh? Say what? The Chinese had mummies too, eh?

2. Rogue: about a crazy croc running amok in an Australian river. My previous experience told me that this movie was going to be bad… any flick with crazy supersized animal chasing and eating people…. Bad! Remember Komodo? (Exception for Jaws though)

3. Wall.E: Pixar’s latest animation. I love Pixar’s…. Toy Story, Ratatouille

After eliminating Rogue I had to eenie-meeni-mynie-moe between wall.e and the mummy and it finally came down to wall.e. (I was heavy towards wall.e anyway). So I purchased my RM 9 tix from the counter and bought some popcorns in case I got hungry while watching the movie (selalunya memang lapar masa tgk movie).

Bila masuk panggung dah gelap… ish… awalnya derang tutup lampu. Seat kat tengah pulak. I had to tip-toe my way to get to my seat… itu pon terpijak kaki 2-3 orang… excuse me… oops… sorry… oh… was that your foot? (org yg dipijak kaki tu mesti menyumpah). After some annoying commercials, movie pon start…

Wall.e was a story about a lonely robot called… well, what else… wall.e lah! Wall.E was actually an acronym for something which I could not remember. This robot was actually designed to clean up Earth by compacting trash into cubes and arranging them into tower-like structure for disposal. Masa tu, the entire human race had already left the Earth in a huge space ship called Axiom while Wall.e mengclearkan all the sampah, maklumlah, manusia nih kan malas. There were many Wall-e’s created initially but only one survived. I suspected those robots were not programmed to have sex thus they could not procreate. Oh… poor thing…

So human yang tinggal kat kapal Axiom nih pon send a fembot (I believe it was a female based on its voice even though I couldn’t see any boobs) to spy on Earth, to check whether it was able to sustain human life after being left for 700 years. Nak dijadikan cerita, Wall-E and this fembot called Eve (tapi Wall-E insisted on calling it Eva) pon bertemu and Wall-E fell head over heels with Eve. Once Eve berjaya mendapat specimen tumbuhan hijau sebagai evidence that Earth was still livable, dia pon kena hantar balik ke Axiom. Si Wall-E nih pulak kan dah jatuh chenta ngan robot betina tuh, terikut sama naik spaceship back to Axiom.

Kat atas Axiom nih mmg ramai manusia… but they were all fat…big and fat! Sebabnya, derang nih dah biasa ngan kemewahan…. No need to walk, no need to brush their teeth, no need to use their hands to eat… sumernya ada robot yang tolong. Patut la gemuk! Nak berinteraksi sesame sendiri pon tak payah toleh2 ke sebelah… ada personal skrin right in front of their faces. In this story, it’s the computer that controlled the ship. Kompiter nih kalau bleh takmo org balik ke bumi sbb dia dpt arahan 700 tahun dulu mengatakan bumi dah tak selamat. So it held the captain captive.

Long story short, atas campurtangan Wall-E n Eve, Capt Jason berjaya membawa balik manusia2 gemuk tuh ke bumi. Hahaha…. Happy ending. Cerita nih mmg banyak moral values… antaranya…

  1. Don’t pollute the Earth…
  2. Technologies make life easier but not necessarily better.
  3. Jangan makan banyak sangat… pastuh tak exercise pulak… you will end up like one of those humans in the ship. Gross!

Cukuplah 3 pengajaran… Go and watch this movie yourself. My final rating untuk Wall-E: 4.75 stars. Selamat menonton!

Next on my list of must-see this summer… Mamma Mia! The trailer looked promising.

Fasha & tandas

Hihi... I purposely put Fasha in the title hoping that it would attract some Fasha's fanatics out there to read my blog. The truth is I'm not writing anything on Fasha today. Oh come on... haven't you read enough on Fasha lately? She's everywhere in the tabloids and cheap trashy magz. Sorry dear... I don't feel like thrashing Fasha today.

And this brings us to the 2nd part of the blog which is on tandas. Specifically the tandas at my workplace. Pernah x masa korang tgh rushing nak buang air besar kat tandas duduk, dah gelabah2 bukak sluar, sekali masa nak landing your butt on the toilet seat, baru terperasan kat toilet seat tu ada cecair kuning tinggalan jibraun yg guna tandas sebelum tuh? And it just so happened that the tandas u were in, dah kehabisan tisu? Urghhh.... this happened to me so many times and every time it happenned I had to curse a little (no... a lot actually... but I just couldn't say the nasty words out loud fearing that my colleague would hear me and think that I'm a lunatic). Lepas habis menyumpah seranah tuh, terpaksa guna air paip untuk sembur2 sket the yellow fluid. Geram pulak rasa... frankly, I don't care what technique you use to pee... nak berdiri ke, nak duduk ke, even nak baring sekali pon... buat laa... yang penting aim la btol2 ke mangkuk tandas tuh. Bukannya aim merata sampai ke toilet seat dan ke lantai. Pastuh tak reti2 nak basuh hasil tinggalan korang. Lagi satu, kalau dah tau your aim isn't that good, angkat la dulu seat cover tuh sebelom peeing. Oh... is that too difficult? Or do we need to put a user manual on how to use the toilet?

Congratulations! Welcome to the toilet!

You are in toilet PECTRL cubicle 3 version 2.0
Please lift the toilet seat cover if you want to pee while standing. For those who prefer to sit, gently put your butt on the toilet seat and adjust your position accordingly. And yes.... you need to take off your pants first.

For peeing while standing, look for the hole with water in the toilet bowl. Aim carefully for that hole and start peeing. If you are not able to aim correctly at the hole, your p***s is probably too short. Please try peeing while sitting next time you moron!

For peeing while sitting, you do not need further instruction. Do your business, flush the toilet and leave. If you still think you need some guidance, then you are probably not smart enough to use this toilet facility at this workplace. Go home and do your business there... idiot!

Thank you for using this toilet facility. If you aren't sure whether you've flushed or not, by all means just flush again. The company is paying for the water. Feel free to waste it. For those who forget to flush, a CCTV will record your face and match it with your worker ID. (A notice will be sent to HR so that your salary can be deducted accordingly for bringing misery to other toilet users).

Have a good day and come again.

Hmm... that will definitely help a lot. U think so?

2008 Book List

I was thinking about writing something on Fasha Sandha today but the mood wasn't right. I'll save my comment on Fasha for some other day. Instead I'm gonna share with you the list of books that I've read so far this year (and when I said book, I'm not talking about Mangga, Hai or Hot... if those are considered as books, my list would be endless). Before we go through the list, I'm just curious, how many of us Malaysians actually read? Yeah... ok I saw some hands up in the air... err... newspaper not counted... thrashy entertainment mags too. And just to be clear... reading emails does not count as well. huh... not so many hands now. Okay then, I guess we can reconsider the newspaper.... but only if you read something other than sport/entertainment section.

The thing about us Malaysians is that we like to think of ourselves as well-informed, highly intellectual society, when the truth is we know very little about many things in this world. People don't read these days. Children spend more time watching TV or playing games. The reading culture isn't just there yet. Oh I'm just babbling here ain't I... let's just go through my list

1. Northern Light aka The Golden Compass (Philip Pullman) - yup... the one made into movie starring Nicole Kidman - entertaining but a bit dragging... wonderful characters though with weird names... my fave...  Serafina Pekkala the witch
2. The Audacity of Hope (Barrack Obama) - he wrote a lot about U.S. constitutional stuff and politics which I found confusing... since I'm not American, but I highly respect his opinions on many other issues especially on welfare and society.
3. Shakespeare (Bill Bryson) - Bryson's view on Shakespeare... if you think you really know Shakespeare, you will be in for a lot of surprises when you read this one... (my fave book so far this year)
4. By the Seat of My Pants (various authors) - a collection of travel writings, funny, entertaining...
5. The Weather Makers (Tim Flannery) - A book on environment. I decided to try different genre this time. Nice reading. Our planet is indeed in danger...
6. Confessions of an Economic Hitman (John Perkins) - Not bad... even though I'm not so sure if the story was actually real or fictional
7. 50 Facts That Should Change The World (Jessica Williams) - Did you know that 1 in 5 people of the world's people lives on less than $1 a day? shocking... and compelling

I've just started Living History by Hillary Clinton yesterday... this one might take a while since the book is a bit thicker than others. I figure if I spend 1/2 hour a day.... it might take me a month or so to finish.... but no pressure though. Nobody's going to spank me if can't make it on time. hehe...

So for those of you out there.... pick a book on a topic that you like and start reading. If you're a first timer, trust me, the hardest part is the first few pages. Once you get the feel of it, you just can't put the book down... seriously... pls read something. Oh... and get a decent bookmark. Don't just fold the page you're stopping at... have some respect for the book.

Happy reading!

my first blog ever... there u go!

Umm... I'm not much of a blogger. A friend of mine has been bugging me for the past few weeks to start my own blog. He really thought that I have an interesting life stories to be shared with the rest of the world. There u go zach... now that I've started this, what am I supposed to write here?

So what do people blog about these days? I've been visiting quite a few blogs for the past few days and lately, the hot topics among malaysian bloggers are...
1. Hike in fuel price (tapi topik ni dah basi...)
2. Dato' Seri Anwar's sodomy allegation (oh dear... )
Hmm... I might share my thoughts on those topics one of these days. But this is my first blog post... Let's not get too excited with topics such as DSA's sodomy or Nora Danish's divorce case.

For the time being I'm just gonna write a few things about life... oh.. this is gonna be like a journal where I can rant and complain and write about things I like and I don't like. That's what a blog is all about. U think so?

I'll write again... soon... promise.
